FYI that I hope to operate on Oct. 20, 2024 from a mobile position on the tri-county bounderies of Henry, Mercer, and Rock Island Counties in IL for the IL QSO party. My coordinates will be 41.3611 degrees North ( 41 degrees, 21 minutes, 39.96 seconds) and Longitude +90.3833 degrees West ( 90 degrees, 22 minutes, 59.88 seconds West). I plan to primarily operate FT8 but also hope to do some SSB and CW. I will be operating from my Ford Lightning on solar power from my residential solar array with my Flex 6600m into an Eagle One antenna mounted on my trailer hitch. Plan on starting on 40 meters and then expanding to other allowable bands depending on band conditions. A contact should be countable as a contact for each of the counties of Henry, Mercer, and Rock Island. I will be operating as close to the GPS coordinates as possible, outside my home QTH of Orion, IL.
The River Bend Wireless Operators Club of the Quad Cities has encouraged members to report their contact points to them for a possible submittal as club points. This is my first time participating in the IL QSO contest. I am a member of the River Bend Wireless Operators Club which meets in Milan, IL and also a member and VE Liaison for the Davenport Radio Amateur Club of Davenport, IA. It meets in Bettendorf, IA or Long Grove, IA on a monthly basis.
The Eagle One is capable of operating from 80 meters through 6 meters with the Flex 6600m and the built in antenna tuner. Maximum output will be < 100 watts.
