Jim,
I can tell you about the CW side only.
If some of those CW ops would slow down and not run 40 wpm or greater, folks would be able to copy them lots better, and may not get busted calls and or counties.
I can copy 15 wpm, but when I hear some of those ops going lots faster, I listen and listen trying copy, but if I can't, I just go on.They lose the contact of mine, not me.
To each his own . . . . .73

This isn't meant as a "rant". More of a.hmmmm.and an insight into why
log-checking takes some time.
In an effort to ensure authenticity of results, we attempt to weed out
busted calls and exchanges rather than just 1) receive the log 2) record
the claimed score 3) issue awards.
I'm running into more and more instances where the received exchange does
not match between numerous contacts. Several entrants will work W9*** and
report "VT" and several others will report "FL" for the same station worked.
I wonder if this is due to the use of remote stations being used?
In other cases, most entrants will report W9*** in VT and one entrant will
report "FL". In this case W9*** is listed on QRZ.com as living in FL. Is
the single entrant looking up the QTH after the contest? Oh, gee.I hope
not.
In other news, I've received at least 3 logs from 2023. I caught one of
these early, but the others were already imported into the master database.
This was not good. I've made a note to look at the log dates more carefully
next year. (If I survive this year..)
At least I didn't get any NYQP logs this year.
Several entrants have listed the county, not the state, of out-of-state
stations worked. Read the rules. OK, that was a rant.
All for now..back to log-checking..
