Indiana qp allows and encourages spotting, but not self spotting. If you want to be spotted, then ask someone you work. That precedent has already been set.But I don't do it myself. Contesting involves spinning the tuning knobMel kj9c

Thanks again for the ME counties. I was very surprised to hear your call
from way up north.

W9O will be Franklin/Jefferson portable multi-op. (AA0Z, KD9LSV, and KD9WHO confirmed)
W9P (KQ9E) will be portable from Dupage.
If you are operating from a POTA park,
the both of us are wanting to build more competition/have a friendly rivalry. We would need operators to operate as W9T and W9A. Please let me know if interested in help pulling this off. Once your official plans update, please email back here to update Danny and the whole group of ILQP people.

Please remind me... Is self-spotting allowed or is it frowned upon? I
didn't see any mention of it in the ILQP rules, but I might have missed it.
I could see some usefulness for it when a mobile, rover, or portable
station QSYs to one of the lesser-used bands such as 15m or 10m. But I'm
not really familiar with accepted contest practices.

That?s a good question and one we have never addressed. I know some QSO parties (MO) specifically allow self-spotting. I think others specifically prohibit it. I have no strong feeling about this. I know as a mobile it might be beneficial but I have no time to do it! Thoughts from the multitude???

My thoughts are now days spotting should be allowed INCLUDING self spotting.
Or at least self spotting for Phone stations.
The CW and RTTY and many digital modes are spotted with every CQ NOW!
Why should the Phone group be penalized?
