Good Afternoon All!
We managed to put a few into the W9GRS log from IROQ / POTA K-4132
(Iroquois County Wildlife Park) as a portable operation. We had some
comments having poor audio, which took us by surprise as we have never had
that trouble with the Kenwood TS-480 set-up. We tried to trouble-shoot,
but couldn't find the source and just plowed through the best we could. We
searched and pounced on 40m and worked all we could hear. We tried
running, but calls were few and far between, even being spotted on both
DXsummit and POTA Spots. Just not our day I guess. We'll be back to the
fixed operations next year to make it a guarantee IROQ for more logs.
It was a good test for us in anticipation of operating in Indiana during an
8th grade geoscience trip this week and in a couple more weeks. Also until
we get the permanent antennas up at the new school location of W9GRS.
Have a Great Day!
-Troy W9KVR / W9GRS
