To answer some recent questions regarding this event:

The updated information is at
http://www.w9awe.org/challenge.html

Information on the Illinois Bicentennial site is NOT NECESSARILY CURRENT! We had to "post something" to that site early on in order to "get on the list". A few details have changed since then. Among them:

1) The award operating period starts August 9. This was moved up due to SVARC putting on their special "capitals operations" and our wanting to allow them to be Bonus Stations for the IL200 award. The operating period still ends on December 3, 2018.

2) Point values for the IL200 award have changed slightly, making the award more easily-attainable.

3) The Fillable-PDF files ARE NOT LOADED TO THE WEBSITE YET. This will be done soon. The links that are shown are not yet active.

4) Plans to activate Illinois counties may be posted to the ILQP Reflector (recommended) from whence they will be compiled and kept on the ILQP website and updated frequently. Details of this are not ready but will be shortly. I will also try to include information sent directly to n9jf at arrl.net, but posting to the reflector will be better. I'll also try to pull information from other sources as appropriate (County Hunter Web, Parks on the Air, WWFF, etc.).

5) Note that the PDF forms have to be filled out WHEN ALL INFORMATION IS AVAILABLE. This is only for applying for the awards. There will be e-mail addresses in the links (once active) that will submit the forms directly. These will probably NOT go to n9jf at arrl.net, so use the link provided.

6) Activator logs may be in Excel or Cabrillo. They are optional, though we may decide to give special recognition to activators (still deciding on this). They may be sent to n9jf at arrl.net. ILQP logs on October 21 will go to n9jf at arrl.net , and all ILQP entry contacts will qualify for the two awards as well as all contacts from Aug 9-Dec 3.

That's all I can think of right now. Anything that's not clear, ask here on the reflector and we'll try to answer. This should be a lot of fun, and we're hoping to involve a massive number of stations from all over the state as "activators".

73, Jim N9JF
