We have always just assumed that contesting on 146.52 was frowned upon. Calling someone there (particularly here in the boonies) is one thing, but I wouldn’t CQ there. Hope to catch some of you on 146.55 on the 22nd. 73, Jim N9JF

In the South, we've always used 146.55. There's a number of locals that use 146.52 for rag chewing so in general don't get on it unless it's someone we know and if they don't mind giving us their county.

"K9CT - Mobiles and Rovers should operate 40
to 45 KHz from the bottom
of the band."
For those of us rovers/mobiles working
SSB, is there a range we should
try to target in each band? The
40-45KHz suggestion works for CW ops,
but should we be targeting 40-45 up
from the bottom of the General
portion of the voice range?
Also, what's the best option for
looking for ops on 2M? I would have
thought 146.52 as well, but I've seen
others mention 146.55.
