[ILQSO] Fw: Aeronautical Station

Yep Chuck, I agree 100% on using 40m. I'll just have to see what the good Colonel says about antennas on a Cessna.
‎
2m most definitely for 2 reasons; altitude and tracking. At 13,000 ft, we would be able to hit a large portion of the state on 146.55 and darn near every repeater to let folks know where we're at and visa versa.

10m at 13k ft would probably be good as well irregardless of band conditions.

It's all about what antennas we can use.

That will be tested out prior to ILQP and we'll post a message letting everyone know when so we can verify coverage.

‎If we left St. Clair County and flew to Indiana and back it would be 2.5hrs. We could do that twice on a tank of gas.

This is all hypothetical as of now. I'll know more Wednesday at Lenten dinner.

2 meters or 10 meters will be a big disappointment I think. Going to find very few available QSO's on a dead 10 meters ( remember, we are nearing bottom of the cycle).

If you can get 20 meters or preferably 40, it will be pretty neat! But, 2 and 10 meters, might be a waste of time....
