[ILQSO] What a hoot!

Well, I've submitted my first log for the ILQSO Party. And although
I've worked the contest in past years (50 or so contacts) I gave it a
real effort this year after volunteering to make a showing for Clark
County. And I had a blast!

I learned a lot too. Like when you're calling CQ and have a pile up of
stations calling to work you, and you get one of those 3 or 4 county
stations, I really hated making folks wait while I logged the 3 or 4
entries into the log. I'll be ready for that next year.

Also, I'm going to have to learn to speak faster! I was calling CQ on
75 without much luck when KF9D came along and I gave him the
frequency. He can call "CQ CQ the Illinois QSO Party KF9D JoDavies"
and log 2 calls before I can finish my CQ call!

It was also great to work my own county with W9WEW working
CLRK/CRAW/JASP. I regret not giving him the frequency. N9SCM was
also on working from Crawford County.

Thanks to all I had a great time and I'll be back next year to give
out CLRK for a multiplier.

73,

Don, K9DRP
