A friend in New Jersey had a neighbor who asked the county to move their signs because he didn't want deer crossing next to his house.  Seriously.

Hope you and 'CIF can come to IL next year. The more, the merrier.  I run into the same problem with INQP due to IL Spring Bird Count about half the time.  Will be over next year.

Jim, don't you think it's terrible that highway departments put up those signs forcing all those deer to cross at the sign? I mean, it's just an invitation for disaster to have the deer congregate at one spot to cross the road.

I live in a fairly new residential subdivision outside Indianapolis. 
There's a deer crossing sign _in_my_neighborhood_. And, yes, I've seen several deer there.

Glad you all had fun in the ILQP. WB9CIF keeps wanting me to drive his car around during ILQP so he can make contacts, but it always seems to fall on the Hilly Hundred bicycle tour weekend and I'm one of the SAGs for that event. The Hilly is scheduled for the second weekend in October 2014, so maybe Mark and I can help activate some counties next year and take some of the load off of Mel.
