Appears that I can't cover all the open stuff south of I-70 unless I go
rover, so I can park and double hit on some county lines. Will sign KJ9C/m
any way and be on for at least 30 minutes in counties that are just me....
Here's my rough schedule (Danny, note that I have changed a lot in order to
get to Bond as well as the others)
Start at Hardin/Pope line (5 hours from home, so I may be a bit late getting
there)... it's all the way south so most of Illinois should be workable on
40 meters....will also hit 20 meters for the DX and long haul folks...
Thru Pope, Saline, Franklin, Jefferson, Washington, Clinton, Bond around
2015, Fayette, Marion, Clay, Richland/Wayne line around 2245, thru Wayne to
Edwards/Wabash line in the last hour.. IF there's any time left I will try
to activate Lawrence Co on the turn toward home.
Most (80%) activity will be CW, in all counties except Marion (too little
time there).... 40-20-15 daylight hours, 80-40-20 as soon as 15 dies. I
learned a long time ago that even though there is in-state propagation on 80
during the afternoon, nobody is there except maybe a weak mobile.... so no
80 meter activity until later... will hit 40 and 20 SSB Search and Pounce,
but likely won't try 75 meter SSB unless I hear a strong CQ ILQP.... and if
thre's a pileup on you I likely won't try to get thru a third time... If I
can find a clear frequency on 40 SSB I will try to call CQ and run a few
locals, but that's not common.
It's gonna be 15 hours of driving, so let's hope the back holds out.
Mobiles/rovers/portables - be sure to post your plans on the county hunter
web site http://www.cquest.com/cgi-bin/flynn/trips.pl... it'll increase your
activity.
