Hi Josh,

Good luck getting things going, and drive carefully! Stop by and say Hi if you get in the vicinity of the CHAM/DOUG/EDGR/VERM intersection.

Subject: [ILQSO] N9WEW Mobile

I was just about to count myself out for ILQP 2012 when I found out we had a relative getting married that weekend and would be out of state.
However, since the wedding is in Missouri and I'll be traveling across the state to get back home one Sunday it sounded like a perfect chance to try mobile!

I've never operated HF mobile in my own vehicle and don't have a setup for it at this time. I was able to procure a few antenna parts and hopefully will be successful in getting these installed in/on my wife's vehicle! Yet to be determined is how much vehicle noise I will have and if I can get rid of it in time.

This week I'll be finalizing everything and hopefully will be in good shape come Friday before we leave.

Here are my plans at this point and if it changes I will update the
reflector:

Pike
Scott
Morgan
Sangamon
Macon
Piatt
Champaign
Vermilion

If time permits when we get home I will try to stay mobile in Vermilion or possibly head up to Ford or Iroquois and continue the mobile operation from there.

That brings up another question on what if the mobile operation doesn't work and I decide to stay home and do the remainder of the contest as a fixed operation.
Is that allowed to be able to operate two categories with the same callsign?

73,
Josh
