Good Evening All!
I'm still planning on getting on air during the ILQP to activate Iroquois County...aka "The Buckle of the Cornbelt" mostly SSB, but might try doing some RTTY.
If anyone wants to warm up their radios though the week before and work a few "9-Land" school stations...The October edition of the School Club Round-Up lands the week before the ILQP from Monday the 15th through Friday the 19th. We'll be operating from Glenn Raymond School in Watseka (yes, Iroquois County) as W9GRS and I know Steve Bonser will have Pana High School on air as NQ9P.
W9GRS has been in the top 4 for the Middle School Division the last 4 years, including top honors twice. NQ9P has been showing great strides in their first 2 years on air. If you get a chance, give us a shout out. W9GRS will be on Mon-Wed. before and after school, mostly digital in the mornings, SSB in the afternoons. I will be visiting fellow 9-Lander School K9SOU, led by Neil Rapp, Thursday on my way to the National Science Teacher's Conference in Louisville and helping them out (yes, I know they're in Indiana, but us 9-Landers stick together when it comes to competing with the big guns found in the East Coast and Texas).
Hope to hear you all on air and I look forward to handing out Iroquois County in a week or so.
73's!
-Troy W9KVR
ps(Lake Carlyle mobile sounds interesting. Would put an interesting twist to the ILQP!)

I believe dragging such a line is where it all started to go wrong for Humphrey Bogart in the Cane Mutiny.

Trolling in a tight circle pulling leadcore or copper doubling as radials? ;-)
