[ILQSO] Observations

Don't know if this "might" be a consideration, but if Iowa, New York,
and Illinois could or would get together on a similar deal as
7QP/INQP/NEQP, it might improve participation in each of the events.
Each of the above have similar data needed, and the only addition is
that in one case you add the abbreviation for the state first, and in
another case you add the state abbreviation last to the county. (In
Indiana you "may" add IN to the county, but it's optional). You "might"
even consider joining with the QRP ARCI's Fall QSO Party which is held
on the same day and which has "similar but not congruent" rules.
I know personally that the 7QP/INQP/NEQP have internal synergies,
they've even gotten together and have at least two logging programmes
(N1MM and W3KM) which have templates so one can log into the same log.
Each of these contest scoring committees takes the entire log to each,
and sort out which counties belong to which contest.
Now, as an outsider to any of the NYQP, IAQP, and ILQP, I'll scurry back
into my flameproof bunker, put on my asbestos suit, and attempt to ward
off incoming flames.

That being said, I had no trouble working 5 DX QSO's in short order. 40 meters proved to be the "workhorse" band for this station again this year, followed by 80, 20, and one lone contact on 15. I had a few more CW contacts than on SSB but not by a great amount. My total multipliers were okay but I think were down from last year.

This year was a last minute thing to get in the QSO party as I expected to be out of town. I had about 5 hours or so of operating time and it was fun no matter what. Nice to see many familiar calls on from QSO Parties past both instate and out.
