[ILQSO] NC9IL Activity Report - 2011 Illinois QSO Party

This year four of us from the State RACES Team received permission to 
operate in the Illinois QSO Party from NC9IL, the location of the RACES 
Station here in Springfield. We operated as regular Amateur Radio 
operators. This was not a RACES activation.

Our goal was to use the opportunity to test communications between 
Springfield and various parts of the State as we might have to do if we 
were responding to a disaster of some sort as either ARES or RACES. To 
that end we operated on 40 and 80 Meters as those would be the most 
likely NVIS bands in an emergency.

Operating time was from noon until about 7:00pm. We were pleased to have 
contacted a total of 62 Illinois counties.
