Please remember the bands of operation include 6 and 2 meters for the ILQP.
We have several hams that may only be able to operate on VHF and would
appreciate getting more contacts. In the past we have suggested 146.550 and
do request avoiding using 146.520. On 6 meters the suggested frequency has
been 50.130 USB.

Even for the diehard contesters, using VHF will only add to your total and
you might even squeak out an extra multiplier or two by using 2 meters
during the contest. A couple of years back I managed to work a dozen or so
station on 2 FM, 4 or 5 different counties (one was a new multiplier). If
all the active ILQP participants in some of the heavier populated areas got
on 2 meters, it could mean a big increase to you score.

Also, don't forget to call CQ Illinois on 2 meter FM every so often, mobiles
may be passing through your area that you haven't worked yet. Mobiles
usually have their hands full but I am sure they can leave a 2 meter radio
on to monitor for activity as they travel.

There is a fixed station in Brown County that may be on this year and he can
cover 15 or 20 IL counties from his place on 2 FM. I am sure there are other
stations just as capable on 2 meters and a point is a point, regardless of
band.
