The activity map has been updated again.

We are less than 2 weeks away and we have a lot of open counties yet and no
mobile have posted a route (hopefully still waiting for the portable
stations to all make their claims). We still have about half of the
counties open and some I am sure will have activity from fixed stations,
please post your intentions so we can fill in the map as much as possible
with fixed and portable operations and then the mobiles will better be able
to plan their routes to cover the counties they will be most needed in.
We really need a few more portable or fixed stations downstate and most of
the counties KJ9C has activated the past few years are still open. Take a
look at the map to see where the holes are. If you know of someone in those
rarer counties, drop them an email and ask them to get on, or send me their
contact information and I will ask them.
Talk up the ILQP at your local meeting, nets, wherever you can to spread the
word other hams that may not know about the ILQP or that have not been
active in recent years.
The club competition may get very interesting this year as more clubs seems
to be promoting the local club aspect.
This is also a great event for the EmComm people to check out their
emergency communication systems and brush up on technique, kind of like an
all Illinois Field Day. Seldom do we see so many Illinois counties active at
any one time during the year. Take some of your unlicensed EMA people out
and show them what you can do. Don't forget to set up a station of VHF, the
ILQP includes 6 and 2 meters and it a great time to put the Technician class
licensees on the air.
Post you plans to the reflector or email them to me direct and I will add
you to the map.
