What:
"No Host" Ham Radio Breakfast
When:
Saturday, February 26, 2011 @ 9:00 AM
Where:
Golden Coral Restaurant
I-55/I-72 South Sixth Street Exit by Wal-Mart
Springfield, IL
Why:
Just an opportunity to get together, renew old friendships, make new
ones, and share a bit of amateur radio camaraderie. Oh yeah, we'll
probably eat a lot too!
* PLEASE ANNOUNCE THIS EVENT ON YOUR LOCAL NETS AND CLUB MEETINGS *
----------
Please join us for a No Host Amateur Radio Breakfast (NHARB?!) on
Saturday, February 26th. There's no agenda and very few rules. The last
NHARB was over a year ago and we had over 50 attendees. Hopefully this
year we won't have an ice storm!
The original idea behind the first of these irregularly scheduled
breakfasts was to get a class of Technician Class graduates together for
a reunion to see how they were doing, answer questions, and give them a
chance to meet a bunch of area Hams. We still love to see the new
Technicians or "almost Technicians" but it's a lot of fun to share a
meal and conversation with all the Elmers and Gray Beards of the group too.
There's a lot of cool stuff happening in the Midwest. When you get the
DX'ers, Contesters, Amateur Television Gurus, ARES/RACES people,
Electronics Designers, Rag Chewers, QRP'ers, etc. all in one place the
end result is usually a bunch of new friends and a lot of interesting
conversation.
Please spread the word on your local nets, club newsletters, etc. The
more the merrier! Everyone with an interest in ham radio is welcome to
join us.
73 and hope you can join us,
Tim, N9PUZ
Springfield, IL
