[ILQSO] Also this weekend- JOTA

Wendell brings up a good point. Work the JOTA stations if you can but PLEASE
do not cause them any grief. No one person or organization owns a frequency
whether it be a net, a special event or a contester, but we have a good bit
of room to move around in, so let's try to keep ANY conflicts to ZERO if
possible.

You also might check 3905 around 4:30 CDST. This would normally be the day
and time for the Illinois ARES HF net, but it was cancelled this weekend to
allow those participating in the ILQP a little bit more time and space plus
W9FX suggested those that would like to, to get on and make some contacts.
That said, there still may be a few stations hanging out around 3905 at the
normal net time and could be a few easy points and possibly a couple of
rarer counties.

Subject: [ILQSO] Also this weekend- JOTA

Just a reminder that Scoutings Jamboree on the Air is this weekend!
It runs all day Saturday and Sunday, 80 through 6m, including WARC.
JOTA Scout Frequencies:
Band SSB (phone) CW (Morse code)
80-meter 3.940 MHz 3.570 MHz
40-meter 7.190 MHz 7.030 MHz
20-meter 14.290 MHz 14.060 MHz
17-meter 18.140 MHz 18.080 MHz
15-meter 21.360 MHz 21.140 MHz
12-meter 24.960 MHz 24.910 MHz
10-meter 28.390 MHz 28.190 MHz
6-meter 50.160 MHz 50.160 MHz

Please try to avoid tying these up.
If you hear someone calling CQ JOTA, consider taking some time to talk
to Scouts.
Most of these young people are somewhat shy on the air, so ask them
questions such
as:
Name, Scout Rank, Favorite Scouting Activity, their Hobbies, etc.
No need for a long QSO- they probably have many Scouts waiting to make
a contact.

I will be operating a station in a local park for a troop on Saturday,
and then
putting MCHE on the air Sunday.
Leaves? What leaves?

73,
Wendell Smith
