[ILQSO] W9DY/m preliminary info

I was operating with N9FN, and it was a lot of fun... but there were a number of times I thought condx were weird.  I don't have the logs, so I don't know if the times are similar to what you experienced, but there were one or two times when all of a sudden we heard almost no signals, but just steady noise.  We even rebooted the radio, wondering if the DSP needed to be recalibrated.  Then, after a bit things came back to where we could once again hear stations.  

I know that there were several times that stations were calling me on CW and I could not make out anything usable... even after several tries.  I appreciate the patience of all who tried, and am sorry that I missed some.  From our QTH it did not appear that Cook Co. was scarce, but there were LOTS of other counties that I never heard.  Now, in the "second guessing" post-contest mode, I wonder how many mults I missed because I did not tune around very much.  That is probably why I did not snag more of the mobiles... (my bad).

This just my sixth QP between IL, MI & OH... and I still have a lot to learn, but I really like the ILQP a lot, and plan to be back (if N9FN will have me).

NM9C was V E R Y weak on 40 and we must have made over a dozen repeats before a full exchange was made.  He was 339 until 1944 when all of a sudden he jumped up to 599 plus.  When he gave his ADAM at 1944 he was so much stronger I thought some do-gooder was trying to relay the info to me.  But it was just NM9C.  If he had a 5KW amp suddenly turned on,  maybe that would account for the phenomenon but the whole band came to life at the same time.   I don't think it was my radio but maybe so.   Anyone able to confirm a jump in TX and RX condx at 1944?
