The first two hours were brutal, as 20 already had gone long, and 40 was not yet open.  Things started to improve by mid-afternoon on 40, and then 80 by ealry evening. Both 40 and 80 had little noise and were pleasant to work, once things picked up on thos bands. Actually made a few CW contacts this year (with a straight key!) as PH K's were few and far between at times.  HF contesting without sunspots is no fun.  

Sweepstakes in a few weeks may be tough again this year. IQP is a great warm-up for Sweeps, however. Heard many SMC club members on the air this year from their respective counties.
