[ILQSO] Suggested frequencies?

FWIW in the Ohio QSO Party this past August we used on 80 meter CW during
the daytime, when there would normally be little activity, a "mini-window"
of exactly 3545, the official center frequency. We asked fixed stations to
avoid that, plus or minus about 1 KHz.

That way a station could have a second receiver sitting on 3545, possibly
with a speaker in the background, and if any activity was heard it would
likely be a mobile or somebody working a mobile. A station without a second
radio could just punch that frequency from a memory, and in a few seconds
determine if there was any mobile activity.

It seemed to work pretty well. As a mobile I could do a few CQs on 3545
and usually stir up some activity. If nothing in several CQs I was back to
another band. I was mobile in 25 counties, and had 80 meter CW contacts from
24 of them. There were only a few counties where I had fewer than 5 qsos.
(By the same token, I did not have much more than 5 qsos per county until
dark.)

Until we get some sunspots and accompanying short propagation on 40 or
above, I believe strategies like this will be necessary for mobiles to work
other in-state stations.

Meanwhile I'm looking to hearing all you guys in Illinois just fine for
most of the day on 40 meters, even if you can't hear each other :>)

Separately, thanks to the ILQP gang for the "edible eatable" which showed
up in my mailbox today. Things must be going good out there, as the Riley's
seasoning container was twice the size of the one I got a couple of years
ago. Much good seasoning lies ahead.

Took a quick look and did not find suggested operating frequencies for
this weekend.

Is there a mobile window (i.e. for only mobiles to call CQ in the
window)? We set one up for INQP that made it a bit easier to find the mobiles with
their weak signals (how about 3545, 7045, 14045 and 5 khz up?)....
