[ILQSO] Suggested frequencies?

Perhaps those of us running fixed stations should periodically ask for "Illinois Mobile's Only" and see if that helps.  It's probably easier done on SSB than CW, but I'll try to remember to give it a shot and see if that helps on both modes.

I know I'd rather snag a new county multiplier than a one or two-pointer, but some of those other non-mobile stations calling us just capture the front end of the radio because they are so loud.  When you have 3 or 4 strong ones calling at the same time, they tend to mask out the mobiles, no matter how hard we try to listen.  Let's hope band conditions perk up too.  40M was not in very good shape this morning.

Good luck to all you road runners out there.  I certainly appreciate your efforts.

73,

As for suggested freqs: yours are fine.  We haven't listed any in recent years.  No mobile window designated but we can talk abouy it for future events.

As for the other issue, "Right on, Brother!"  73 Jim N9JF

Took a quick look and did not find suggested operating frequencies for this weekend.

Is there a mobile window (i.e.  for only mobiles to call CQ in the window)? We set one up for INQP that made it a bit easier to find the mobiles with their weak signals (how about  3545, 7045, 14045 and 5 khz up?)....

as for a phone window for mobiles, most of us can't be heard well on 75 or 40 meters so I will be searching and pouncing on those bands....  Might try calling CQ on 20 SSB if propagation looks OK.

FIXED STATIONS (especially you loud ones).... I say it every year and every year there's one or two of you that I'd like to nominate for the award for "Missed the rare one --- many times"....    If you don't listen for mobiles every few CQs we won't work you. I can't spend five minutes trying to work Cook County (again).... but you might like any one of the multipliers that our mobiles will be handing out. Check for mobiles calling you.... I keep a black list of guys that I will tune past because I wasted too much time calling them and got beat out by a string of KW stations in Ohio.

Still assembling the mobile rig and computers... running the K3 this time as the 706 crapped out. Ought to be fun.
