[ILQSO] VHF operation

In the past, VHF operation in the ILQP has been very sparse. I would
like to encourage more VHF QSO's, 2 meter or 6 meter FM, SSB or CW. I am
sure there are a number of those that do not operate HF that would be
willing to provide some QSO's and maybe even a few of the rarer counties.

I know more of the HF contesters have been getting active on 6 and 2
meters and running the bands might as well include 6 and 2. The added
benefit is the more activity on VHF, the more activity we can attract to
the event. 2 meter simplex FM is a little limited in range, but an
average 6 meter or 3 meter SSB/CW station can cover most if not all of
the state, as well as the adjoining states.

We have suggested using 146.55 FM simplex in the past and I have had a
radio on that frequency every year and have only managed 1 QSO, even
back when I was running mobile. I suggest more stations call CQ ILQP on
the FM simplex frequency and use 50.130 on 6 meter SSB and 144.210 on 2
meters SSB. If the CW operators want to use a different frequency, that
is up to you.
