[ILQSO] McHenry County RACES/ARES 2008 Summary

Here is a quick summary of the multi/multi operation from McHenry County
RACES and ARES, K9ESV.
Operating Time: About 6 hours
Station Setup: 2 X FT897D with dipoles for 80, 40 and 20. All antennas were
set up specifically for this event starting at 10 AM.
Location: Front parking lot of the McHenry County Government Center in
Woodstock, IL. Operations were conducted from MCEMA Unit 52 Communications
Vehicle using generator power.
Total QSO's: 333, 18 on 80M Ph; 214 on 40M Ph; 47 on 20M Ph; 54 on 20M CW.
States NOT worked: CT, HI, ME, ND, NH, NV, OR, VT
Operators/helpers included: KE4CON, N9EB, KF9ME, WC9P, KB9YMD, KA9OZP, and
W9ZE
Yes, I did say multi/multi operation. While we enjoy the event, we have made
a conscious decision to get as many folks on the air as we can instead of
trying to compete. Since M/M is not a category (yet) for the competition, we
are submitting a check log only. With the nice weather, it was turned out to
be a great event that we look forward to participating in every year.
We also humbly submit the request to add a multi/multi category for the
event next year. Not that we want to win ;-)
