All Portables are in the same category, I'm not sure what you mean...

Mark:

In actuality, 4 county line portables only compete with other 4 county line
portables, etc., so, except for the club aggregate scoring, there's no need
for having a distinction.

And, there are "about" three times the number of counties if you calculate
all three county line corners, so that's the "prime"
location. Some, of course, are in metro areas, but most are in rural areas.

I do think it is fun to operate from a four county location, but am
wondering if my sanity will be questioned if I keep driving 400 miles one
way to a four county location. :)

While it is rewarding to earn the extra points there are limited "golden" 4
co corners accessible or favorable. I'm all for testing of man and machine
as you describe. Since there are more 3 co corners that 4, could 3 be set
as a max (or2)? The 4 co would still be more desirable to work as he'd be
worth 4 to the other operators. Now if only we could get a high and low
power Portable category.....
