[ILQSO] 20 meters- a further analysis

Josh, I hope you had fun in your first ILQP! You're correct...adding CW
to your "arsenal" would be a great asset.

One of the issues we'll re-examine post-contest is how to make the party
more friendly to those who do only the voice modes.

This was my first ILQP, so I didn't know what to expect. However, I
started on 20 and worked one or two DX stations and several stateside.
I then moved to 40 an hour or so into the contest and called CQ for a
while, worked a good run of stations and then saw some spots for 80M
in-state stations, so I moved over there. Ran S&P forever on there,
several very loud stations in state and nearby. At one point it seemed
stations were evenly spaced from 3800-3940. I had some line noise that
seemed to come and go and pretty well wipe out 80M. My noise level
would shift from an S3 to S9 and sometimes even 20+. After that I went
back to 40 and couldn't hear anything there either! However, 2M didn't
fail me and I was able to make contact with N9FN across the county
from me on the VERM/DOUG/CHAM/EDGR. During this time of noise I also
decide to take a road trip and visit the N9FN operation. He had a
pretty slick setup for being in the middle of a cornfield, hopefully
he has some pictures he can post.

I only did SSB and hope to be able to get my CW speed up to contest
rates so I can work that angle. I know I miss a lot of points and
multipliers by only being able to do SSB.
