Don,

I think Jim is on the road again this week and may be intermittently on the
net for the next week or two.  

But to answer your question, yes EXCEL is certainly acceptable and very much
preferred to a paper log submission.  In fact all submissions, electronic or
paper, will eventually end up in a single EXCEL file for the event analysis
and scoring.  In fact, last year the XYL (NB9Q) and I had the job of
transcribing all of the paper log submissions into EXCEL format for this
purpose.  Last year that task required manual transcription of over 5000
QSO's.  So anything that will minimize that task this year will be greatly
appreciated.
