Ray,
I'm glad to hear your club is doing a portable operation. The Sangamon
Valley Radio Club in Springfield, IL started doing this about 5 years
ago. We do a potluck wiener roast. We usually get 4 or 5 stations on
the air in a mini-Field Day style operation. It is a great opportunity
to get some of the newbies on the air. There is more socializing than
operating but everyone has a lot of fun. It has proven to be one of our
more popular club activities. (Except last year, when it was way too
cold to be out there.)
We'll be looking for you.
