[ILQSO] going to 80

Hank makes an EXCELLENT point. Try 80 early. If you work someone when
you are CQing and things have been slow on another band, ask them to go
to 80. (You'll find out very quickly who wants to and who doesn't.) Do
this especially if you know that person will "spot" you on one of the
county-hunter websites. If you get spotted on 80 CQing, you will have a
pileup pretty quickly.

Subject: Re: [ILQSO] 40 meter SSB hint
I've been successful on 80 CW during State QSO parties at 2200Z or even
earlier. Last year during the ILQP I was pleasantly surprised when 40
metres started getting real long and I switched to 80 at 21:20 and
started working stations like crazy. Went back to 40 after things ran
dry (not because of weak signals, just not all that many signals), but
came back within an hour.
It all depends, of course, on propagation. My plea is to check 80
metres sooner rather than later.
