Hey Howie, it was great to meet you in Urbana!!  I just have to wave at
ham callsign license plates  :)

We are a "bleed orange and blue family": my grandfather attended two
years in the early 1900's (didn't graduate); my dad graduated in 1943.
Yours truly and Melba in '71, a brother and two sisters-in-law in '72,
another brother in 74, another brother and sister-in-law in '76, a
brother-in-law in 
'82 and sister in '83, then a total of two nephews and two nieces so far
and at least one to go.

Somehow OUR kids never wanted to go there.  Go figger....

My brother Dave (WY0L) and I will be in Nebraska for CWSS.  We found a
cool place to operate at a YMCA camp several years ago and just keep
going back, Field Day style.

Jim,

Really great to get a chance to meet you at UIUC.  I have to give my
wife Nancy credit for suggesting I go find the guy who was waving at us.
We had a great time even though we did not go to the game.  The best
part was to get to meet you and to see the MI at the Education Building.
MI was really great for our son and for your nephew I am sure.  The
trombones were a close bunch and they still keep in touch.  Another guy
known to hang out at times at UIUC football is my friend Vic, K9UIY.

I am taking off work Thur and Friday to rest up and get some things
ready for SS.   This will be an experience at the cycle minimum, 150 W
and lousy antennas.  Still I would not miss it and just have to go for
it.  I do need something new each year and hopefully this year it will
be two antennas and two radios.  I did this in the 80's with two C Lines
in a crude way so this should be a big improvement in reducing boredom.
