[ILQSO] Counties to activate - my thoughts

Hello All,
A useful planning tool is Microsoft's Terraserver. The user interface is not
quite as polished as Google Earth but it works fine for me. It is easy to toggle
between the topo map and satellite imagery views - just click the tabs. The
corner you are asking about is found at the following link:
http://terraserver-usa.com/image.aspx?T=2&S=11&X=947&Y=10491&Z=16&W=2
Note that all four counties do not truly intersect here - White & Saline
counties are separated by about 80 m according to the topo map. Delorme's Atlas
& Gazetteer shows the same little jog - surveyor's artifact, perhaps. Perfect
for a 160m dipole to bridge the gap, however, and the satellite image shows
trees along the north-south axis for support.
Looking forward to doing another county-line portable this October.
Anyone interested in experimenting with APRS for tracking mobiles?
I'm playing around with it and wonder if any experienced users have given that
consideration.

Jim Gelbort W9TO
