"From Illinois 40 meters ought to be a real nice skip distance to Ohio, so
have fun chasing us Buckeyes around Ohio. And no, most of us are not under
water.

40 Meters has been proving very productive lately into Ohio, even on my attic mounted squiggly dipole. (Squiggly Dipole = you squiggle it this way and that way to make it fit since your attic is only 30 feet long).
Maybe YOU'RE not under water, but I'm darn close to it! We've been getting rain, rain, rain and lots of it for what seems like weeks now. Many of the streams and rivers all over Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin are flooding. It's been flash flood and flood warnings on a daily basis now, and Net after Net for Severe Thunderstorm Watches and Warnings. Plus, it's raining again now :(
Our county is having an ARES meeting tomorrow morning until noon so I won't be able to get into the contest until probably some time after 1:00 CDT. Not sure if your state has significantly more Hams than some of the other states but the OHIO QSO party is one I always find plenty of stations to work and run into a great bunch of operators.
