My setup has been the same since about 1997 when the TS850SAT got too
heavy to drag into the car.
Now I use daily, my IC706MK2 (not G) with at180 auto tuner. The whole
station is mounted in a plastic filing crate/milk crate so I can pick it
up and set in the back seat of the Camry. The rear seat backs fold down
and I use the folded down right hand seat back as a desk with the rig
while I sit at the left hand seat. There is a shelf across the crate
with the rig and tuner on the bottom and the KC memory keyer and mini
paddle from our own K9LU on the top shelf along with clock, Heil boom
mike, clip-on lamp, etc. I can set it up with all cables plugged in in
45 seconds. The antenna is an Outbacker Outreach, the largest of the
Outbacker line, about 12 feet long held up with a triple magnet mount.
That height above the Camry roof, my rig in back seat and my promise to
Meriam never again to operate in motion helps me keep my promise. I feel
lucky to be able to have operated in my 35th ILQP this year. That
figure is approximate as I've actually lost track of the count.

We at RAMS are so glad to have found such a lively and savvy group as the
WIARC to carry on the torch of the ILQP to even better heights. Thank
you, guys and gals.
