[ILQSO] Rig survey

N9JF/M: FT900, CW filter available but used only about 10% of the time.
Arranged "station" to key left-handed so I could type right-handed.
Bumpy roads and left-handed keying probably made many wonder what I was
smoking. Antennas: mini-Tarheel on 40, Hustlers (3) on a short mast and
3-way mount for 80, 20 and (big whoop) 15.

I like the FT900 even though it is rather susceptible to overload from
nearby stations. The really wide filter allowed me to sort out some of
the unreal pileups that were generated by packet spots (thanks!!!).
Many times I could not pick out a single letter and simply tossed out a
call and a report that I *thought* was probably in the pileup, and was
rewarded about 80% of the time with a QSO....

Fun, fun, fun!

73, Jim N9JF

Subject: [ILQSO] Rig survey

Here is a question for the list. Which radio were the
mobile stations using, and how did they perform? And
what were the base stations using?
