[ILQSO] K9LY/m report

This must have been the coldest day we've ever had for ILQP. Operating
inside the car was fine, but changing bands with the Outbacker antenna
made me realize I'm just not ready for winter! I had the sunroof open
for a bit of ventilation but had to close it once the snow flurries
started blowing in. I'm sure all the /P guys had it much worse, though.

Operated from just 2 county borders this time: KANK/WILL and KEND/GRUN.
40 was good as usual. 20 was way down in activity from last year,
although propagation wasn't totally lacking. Worked WA, OR, and DX PJ2,
F5, and LY2. Maybe skip was too long for the east coast to come in
well.

Actually made a few phone contacts on 40. Even with a narrow SSB filter
in the IC-706MkIIG, the QRM was too much for me and I soon wound up
back in the CW subband. Don't know how you 'phone guys put up with it!

All in all it was a blast. Am looking forward to reading all the
reports here on the reflector. Thanks to WIARC for coordinating all the
mobile and portable activity and sponsoring this day of fun!

73,
Joe K9LY
