Not sure what happened to your NVIS setup, mine seemed to work fine up here in the northern part of the state, Winnebago County. We worked at 2006z on 40m, and if you were on the NVIS then I had you to my NVIS at almost 20db over 9, of course that's at around 300 miles as well so not really local. My signal pretty much blanketed the northern third of the state missing DuPage county, but happy to work all the way down to Pulaski on the same antenna only 7 feet above the ground. I did considerably better than last year so also happy with that, but at this rate I won't be catching up to you anytime too soon so no threat here. I was suprised that later in the afternoon on the same antenna I worked as far west as Kansas and South Dakota, east to Ohio and Pennsylvania and south to Alabama and Georgia.
All in all it was fun, did better, actually exceeded my expectations, found a few kinks that slowed down my operations and have some ideas to speed that up for next year. Congratulations to all and thanks for the QSOs to those I was able to contact.
