For the second year in a row the Sangamon Valley Radio Club went to the
Christian/Sangamon county line for the ILQSO Party. We do this as a
mini-Field Day to try our new antennas, to get the new hams involved
and on the air, and to get everyone involved. Having multi stations,
and multi ops on some of those stations isn't really covered in the
rules, but I figure as long as we stay near the bottom of the club
competition no one should care. As it is there will likely only be one
log submitted this year for the whole event (Mine, as W9DUA).
The reason for this is a good one. On Saturday some of the Club
members were to operate the Scout Jamboree On The Air. Due to a
scheduling change (they bumped us so they could use the facility for a
meeting) we had many scouts show up and no station to operate. So we
invited them all to the IL QSO Party site the next day. 2 of the 3
stations main operators, as well as all the relief operators spent the
afternoon talking with scouts and working ragchew stations with them.
So not much of a score, but we got to demo ham radio to many scouts.

Between visits I was able to work 35 Qs with 38 multipliers, all on 40
phone. I didn't realize the other stations, on other bands, were not
making many ILQSO contacts, or I would have band hopped a little.
