I Believe this to be the correct answer... Key is to have the 1 sec
difference
or LOTW will mark these as duplicate QSO's. Then you would need to create
separate input files for each location and then use tqsl to tag each with
the
proper location and send it up to LOTW...

Sort of a PAIN... But if you want the computer to make the matches, that is
what
you would have to do...

Wonder how it handles the matching on the other end??? HMMM... I guess the
contacts
would also have to submit separate qso's 1 sec appart.. But I wonder how/if
it can tie
all the qso's together...

It is true that that you need to apply for a separate certificate for each
callsign used. N9FN, N9NF/M, and N9FN/P would all be separate callsigns
needing separate certificates. Also, if I submit my QSO's as N9FN and the
person I QSO with logs N9FN/M or N9FN/P a match will NOT occur.

Within the certificate however, you can have multiple "Locations" specified,
that contain the State, County, Grid, etc for where you are currently
operating. What I have been doing is making separate "location" entries
for places I have operated from, and that will give the appropriate credit
for that state/county. In the case of ILQP though where I was at the
CHAM/DOUG/EDGR/VERM county line, I just entered VERM since that was the
county I was physically in. In my log in DXbase I have notes stating where
it was for future QSL requests and my info. I sent email to Wayne Mills at
LOTW about the "proper" way to log these multi county QSO's and received a
less than helpful answer. His answer was basically a question, asking how
I would enter it in a computer logging program that only has one entry for
state/county, etc. I think he was trying to say that you have to enter
each QSO multiple times, one from each county, with 1 second difference in
the QSO times into LOTW, but I've re-read that email exchange several times
and it's still as clear as mud.

My personal opinion is that from the same DXCC country it makes sense to use
the same certificate and edit the location appropriately for where you are.
When operating from other DXCC countries, then get another certificate. I
know one person that was in the log of a DXPedition, and when he tried to
get a card at Dayton, he gave them his call and he was "Not In Log" in their
computer. It was later learned that he was in the log as HISCALL/M because
he was mobile and the person checking the log didn't look for that. LOTW
will also not match N9FN if I used an N9FN/M certificate.

Anyway, that's how I have interpreted it and have been doing it. It's
obvious that we need to follow some consistent convention for LOTW to work,
and if I'm not doing it correctly, I'll be more than happy to follow the
conventions if they are clarified!

Thanks....Dave -- N9FN

According to what I read and heard about LOTW, you have to have a
separate certificate for each callsign, including /P or /M. You
probably already have one for KF9TL, you would need another one for
KF9TL/P

I'd like to post my contest log to the LOTW but I operated portable and
not
within my own county. Has any other portable or mobile stations ever
done
this?

Thanks!
