[ILQSO] Inverter noise Help

Hi all,

Trying to be proactive and get some issues resolved before IQP - thanks for
any help you all can provide

my dc/ac inverter (powers the laptop) creates >S9 noise on 20M (and slightly
less on 40M) 

it has been suggested to me to wrap any/all cords through large torroids - I
searched the 'net for torroids but I haven't a clue to what
type/size/material th at will help me suppress the noise

any ideas/suggestions/sources?
