We did try this in the Indiana QP in May 2003. Results were okay, but not =
as good as we had hoped. We had a large fixed station in Indy (geographica=
l center of the state) acting as a relay, but he had a hard time hearing =
the mobiles that were a ways out.

Mobile to mobile was nearly impossible (band conditions were awful that =
day).

Hey gang,
I think the Indiana people tried an early-evening coordination of mobiles =
on
40 meter SSB. Anybody know how it worked? We could do this in IL, but in
only an eight-hour event, you sure don't want to spend much time shooting
the breeze instead of making contacts! Maybe we mobiles can just do a =
"How
is your route going?" check with each other along the way and make
adjustments if necessary. I plan to have a list of who is planning to be
where and when. If you work another mobile with whom you are sharing some
area, how about coordinating amongst yourselves if possible? Comments?

There was quite a lengthy post on the PA QSO party reflector about 2 meter
FM use. There really are lots of potentials contacts out there on 2 FM if
we'll all just keep a radio on 146.55. If it gets crowded, just work the
guy that's there and announce another frequency you're moving to (not
146.52).
