Jonathan,

Regarding mobile CW operation and ID, I would guess
that many of the active mobile ops on CW indicate
their county as part of their calls, as you indicated,
such as W9MSE/OGLE etc. I have been doing it that
way for probably the past 4 or 5 years, in the IL,
WI, MN, and CWCH Contests, and many others do it also.
It really helps not only the other stations who are
waiting for the mobile, but also helps the mobile. It
reduces the dupes for the mobile who get called by
someone who does not know the county, plus it helps
the pileups increase when the county changes and
others can hear it as they pass by hearing his call,
either as a "CQ de W9MSE/OGLE", or after a QSO he may
indicate "QRZ de W9MSE/OGLE". Hope you have a good
time in the contest. It should be a very active one,
good to hear about all the mobiles. Sorry I won't be
there this year, but hope to be trying to catch lots
of the CW mobiles from here in WI. Maybe I'll be back
next year.

Jeff W9MSE
