From n9gtm at comcast.net Wed Apr 3 13:57:38 2019 From: n9gtm at comcast.net (Jim Morrison) Date: Wed, 3 Apr 2019 12:57:38 -0500 Subject: [ILHam] VARA club repeater updates Message-ID: Greetings, We recently upgraded our 2m analog repeater with APCO P-25 capabilities, and as long as we were changing the web page to reflect that upgrade we now also list the 6m repeater, which for some reason never got added. Thanks to the Motorola club for the donation of their 6m cans, we appreciate it. I had no idea the cans would be so large. Paul W9DWP (SK), Todd WB9PHK, and the Motorola club worked to get the whole 6m thing going, many thanks. Thanks also to Todd WB9PHK for the 2m APCO P-25 upgrade. By the way, yes the 2m Yaesu FUSION feature has been dropped; it received only very minor usage. The FUSION repeater makes a decent backup for either 2m or 70cm, so that's nice. DMR continues to function well, and it's internet connected. VHF Analog: 52.95 MHz (-1 MHz) 114.8 Hz (2A) PL VHF Analog: 146.790 MHz (-600 KHz) 107.2 Hz (1B) PL VHF APCO P-25: 146.790 MHz (-600 KHz) NAC 293 UHF Analog: 444.950 MHz (+5 MHz) 114.8 Hz (2A) PL UHF APCO P-25: 444.950 MHz (+5 MHz) NAC 293 UHF DMR: 444.975 MHz (+5 MHz) Color Code 1 Swing on by & give the new gear a try, and stop by the regular Monday night net at 8pm local on 2m analog if you get a chance. We usually have a nice round-table discussion, all hams welcome. We try to wrap up by 8:30pm since the KARC net starts up then and we have common members that check in over there. https://qsl.net/vara (javascript enabled for full features) Next VARA meeting: 2019-05-03; dues due, officer election. Dues or donations can also be paid online, thanks to Kevin KB9PYH for helping us claw ourselves into the 21st Century with online payments. 73, Jim n9gtm
