WINTER FIELD DAY - Under New Management
TALK it up at your Club, and with your Friends, Fiends, and Relatives
Make plans to operate the last weekend in January, as soon as possible
Operate Inside or Outside, In a Tent or Camper, or from your Home or Club
Bonus Points for Aux Power, Being Outdoors, and being Away from Home
this formerly small event is getting a lot of attention this year, it won't be as big as the June Field Day, but will be big enough for a lot of FUN for all who participate
The FB Group is around 600 members - LOTS of Groups and Clubs already have made plans, along with hundreds of individual operators - you CAN operate from home on AC power and work anyone in the Contest :)
SPAR has passed on WFD to the WFDA, with it's Blessing

The Evanston Amateur Radio Community is offering VE testing for all license levels on Monday, January 25, at 6:30 p.m. at the Fire Department Training Room, 909 Lake Street in Evanston. Please contact W9LUO at mfgardner -at- aol.com by January 23 you wish to take an exam or exams. Those taking exams are asked to bring a pen, pencils with eraser, a photocopy of a picture ID (we keep it) and, if you're currently licensed, a photocopy of your current license (we keep that also). Also bring the exam fee (cash or check to "ARRL VEC"). If you want to try out the exam before you come, there are practice exams online, such as http://qrz.com/hamtest and others. You can look at the question pool, from which all exam questions come, at various sites, such as http://www.arrl.org/tech-question-pool
