Below is a description and details from Bill; Old Wilson self supporting rotatable. I used a regular Ham M which was mounted at the base and turned the tower well. I built a sort of thrust bearing by using a auto rim that was attached to the outside top of the base sections. And with a set of big pipe clamps-supports, I anchored it to the big chimney a the top. That way I felt extra safe, and the tower could rotate freely. HEAVY, thick walled outside 2"od but it served as my mast. . I've always felt safe with my tower engineering. And along with a big 110 winch, I could fully extend or lower it by standing on my rear porch when vacationing or serious wx threat. It's available for a 'reasonable cash donation' and sweat equity. If interested, please call Bill at 1-708 867-4731, or email him at bill at w9ol.com update 8/19: The antennas are coming off today, the tower will be on the ground by the end of this weekend. Bill adds the cranked down length of the tower is appx 22 ft, ans muscle will be needed to load it. 73, Zig-KM9M (on behalf of SMC'er W9OL) From ormos at ripco.com Wed Aug 24 12:05:12 2016 From: ormos at ripco.com (Neil R.
