The Western Illinois Amateur Radio Club will sponsor a VE test session on
Saturday May 3rd at 9:30 AM. The location is classroom 1 of the Adams
County Red Cross Building at 3000 North 23rd Street, Quincy, IL.
Walk-in candidates will be allowed, however pre-registration is strongly
advised. Candidates will need to bring two forms of ID. One of these must
be a government issued photo ID such as a drivers license or a FOID card.
The second can be anything that has your name and address on it such as a
library card, credit card, student ID, electric bill, etc. If you currently
hold either an FCC issued Amateur License or a CSCE from a recent test
session and wish to attempt an upgrade, you must bring the original AND a
photo copy of it to the test session. Also you will need to bring two soft
lead pencils with erasers and a ball point pen with blue or black ink. The
test fee is $15.00 and that can be either in cash or a personal check made
out to ARRL-VEC. If you bring cash, we strongly ask that you bring the
exact amount as we do not have a supply of change on hand at the sessions.
You may bring and use a non-programmable electronic calculator if you
believe you will need it.
On the test day, we ask all candidates to be at the Red Cross on time to
minimize any disturbance to those who might already be testing. This is a
single session testing opportunity and anyone arriving after 9:45 may not be
allowed to participate.
