Amateur Radio Military Appreciation Day (ARMAD) is May 29 and members of the Evanston Amateur Radio Community will be set up from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the James Park picnic area, just west of Levy Center parking lot, for members of the public to express appreciation to military personnel and first responders for all the risks they take for us. Talk to them in person and/or on ham radio. This annual event has spread across the country since its beginning in Fort Wayne, Indiana, with the slogan "Let's Ham it Up for the Troops!"
