[ILHam] Evanston Packet Presentation Monday

As announced in the October newsletter (available at www.evanstonhams.org 
), the Evanston Amateur Radio Community will meet Monday at the Emergency 
Operations Center at 7:30 p.m. (NOT the Fire Department Training Room). Mark 
Klocksin, WA9IVH, will give us a presentation with  PowerPoint about using 
Packet Radio, which can be used just like email with the free "Outpost" program 
to send messages in emergency (or ordinary) situations, including 
attachments such as lists of supplies needed, etc. 

Mark will bring a TNC and a portable digipeater. And he will do a 
"hands-on" demo with Outpost, several people at a time. He sent three messages to 
KC9OAS via the BBS a few days ago.  So they'll be there waiting to download 
when we connect. Also, he will leave his station on so we can connect to it.
