The new Illiana Radio Club just completed it's
first ever Field Day and it was a huge success.
We had over 1500 QSO's and over 50 operators,
helpers, family and visitors attended. You can
see pictures of our Field Day on our web site
in the photo album at http://www.w9irc.org.
Not all of the pictures are in yet and more will
be added to the web site so check it again for
updates.
We also had another first last week by holding
our first VE test session. We had 7 candidates
of which 2 upgraded to Extra and 1 received
her Tech. This came at the end of a Tech license
course we just concluded that we were holding
at Ryves Youth Center.
We're actively seeking new members for the
Illiana Radio Club. You can join from the web
site by clicking on the Member App link. You
can pay online with your credit card. Dues are
just $20.00 per year and $5.00 per year for
family members.
The Illiana Radio Club is ARRL affiliated and
works with the Ryves Youth Center in Terre Haute,
IN, to provide service to the community but that's
not all that we do. Many members are involved
with ARES and provide other services to the
community in many ways. We hope to soon
achieve ARRL Special Services Club status.
The Illiana Radio Club is centered around where
I-70 crosses the Illinois/Indiana state line. We're
a bi-state club with about half our members in
each state. We have monthly meetings on the
3rd Thursday of the month at the Ryves Youth
Center in Terre Haute, IN. Our next meeting is
Thursday, July 16th, at 7:30 PM, at Ryves.
