[ILHam] Technician License Class in Evanston

A class for the Technician license for ham radio will begin at 7:00 p.m. on 
February 9 at either the Civic Center or the Fire Department. The class 
requires use of a textbook, The ARRL Ham Radio License Manual, 1st edition, 2006. 
This book can be purchased directly from the American Radio Relay League for 
$24.95 plus shipping, but you can get the book plus all course handouts for $25.00 
because of the instructor discount. Please contact Scott Irwin, W8UFO, this 
weekend at w8ufo at arrl.net if you plan to take the course so that enough books 
can be ordered to be given out on February 9.
       The class schedule is as follows:
                February 9: introduction and study guide for exam prep. This 
may be all that some people want to come to until the exam on March 15.
                February 16, 23, March 2, March 9, presentation of the 
various subjects covered by the exam.
                February 14, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., review session for 
anyone interested.
                February 15, tentatively 2:30 p.m., FCC exam
Note that the FCC exam costs $15, not covered by the course cost mentioned 
above. 
       Payment for the book should be made to Scott Irwin, 2028 Cleveland 
Street, Evanston 60202, or brought to the February 9 session, or made by Paypal
