The ILLIANA RADIO CLUB, the bestest, fastest growing,
newest club around (I might be biased) is having it's monthly
club meeting and a cookout on Thursday, August 20th, at
Voorhees Park in Terre Haute, IN. Setup begins no later
than 6:30 PM EDT, 5:30 PM CDT. The picnic begins
about 7:00 PM EDT, 6:00 PM CDT. Please bring a
covered dish and your own service. Burgers and dogs
will be provided. There will be some tea and lemonade.
We want our new club to grow so if you might be interested
in joining a new dynamic Amateur Radio club please
attend. We've recently had a very successful Field Day and
a public relations event at the National Night Out. To learn
more about the IRC please visit our web site at
http://www.w9irc.org or http://www.illianaradioclub.org.
Our club is centered about the area where I-70 crosses the
Illinois/Indiana state line. We have members from both states.
Talk-in on 147.15 MHz (151.4 Hz). Voorhees Park is located
in the south west part of Terre Haute at the intersection of
State Road 63 and Voorhees Ave. From the intersection of
I-70 and US-40 take US-40, 3rd Street, north to Voorhees
Ave., a little over half a mile, and turn west. Take Voorhees
to almost State Road 63 but pull into the parking lot for the
park on the right before you get there. We'll be in the shelter
that's in the southwest corner of the park.
Hope to see you there.
Thanks,
Jim, WD9EYB
